Hip Hop NC- In recent weeks President Obama has came out in support of gay marriage. This sparked a national debate in the Black communities especially amongst the churchgoers. There have been others such as hip hop moguls, Jay-Z and 50-Cent who actually came out in support of President Obama’s stance. Also you had media personalities and leaders who had separate opinions on the subject. One notably was Michael Eric Dyson’s debate with Sophia Nelson on MSNBC’s ‘Ed Show’. In North Carolina, the citizens had a chance to vote for Amendment One to be added to the state’s constitution. Many ministers, pastors and preachers alike preached sermons in support of the Amendment One.
